How to remove a large hyberfil.sys?

I needed to reduce C: disk space. It turned out hyberfil.sys size was 19 Gbytes.This was the file used for the hybernate process. If you don't use the hybernate, thenyou don't need it. Here is how.


  1. Start command prompt as an administrator  
  2. powercfg -h off  
  3. you should not find herberfil.sys.

Why my win7 laptop keeps failing win10 update?

I picked the choice of updating win7 installation. When I start installing, it kept failing with 0x8... code during the install. It turned out that the SQL Server 2008 is the cause of the failure. After removing all remnants of SQL Server, the win10 installation went through.
